Duo Bohème is a guitar and violin duo based in Virginia.

We offer an elegant throwback to the 1920's and 30's, providing a selection of standard classical wedding repertoire, mellow pop and an array of Django Reinhardt - inspired French "gypsy" jazz tunes. 

 We are Anna and Dave Hennessy, a husband and wife team of diverse performers, with decades of experience in a variety of musical settings ranging from the Kennedy Center to German music festivals. 

Duo Bohème represents our most recent foray into an exciting musical genre.

WHAT OUR FANS ARE SAYING...

Where to begin. We first noticed Duo Bohème when they were playing at Brasserie Saison in Charlottesville. We kept commenting on how much we liked their sound and how well they seemed to know their space. We were in the process of planning our wedding at the Jefferson Theater and my now-husband had the ah-hah moment - can we ask if they would play during our cocktail hour? Fortunately for us, they said yes.

Fast forward a bit and we realized that we'd love to have an accompaniment to play with my cousin as she sang me down the aisle, and they would be just perfect. Mind you, my cousin lives in Brooklyn and wasn't coming down until the day before the wedding. 

I wish we had a video of the moment they played and my cousin sang, it was perfection. Our guests  cannot stop commenting on how  timeless and wonderful the music was. I would say I can't imagine how they all pulled it off but they are so professional and terrific that we have an idea.

On top of all of this, Anna and David are just kind and lovely folks. 

We are so delighted that they were part of our day, we'll have them again when we do the wedding all over again next year. Just kidding, though it was so fun, we're sorta serious.
